SoundCloud repost networks, explained

Why groups of channels repost each other’s music — and how to run a network that listeners and SoundCloud don’t hate.

What is a repost network?

A repost network (or repost chain) is a group of SoundCloud channels — often in the same genre — that agree to repost each other’s tracks or tracks submitted to them. Because each repost reaches that channel’s followers, a network can put a new release in front of many more listeners than the artist’s own following.

How repost networks help

Running a network the right way

  1. Get explicit permission. Every channel should opt in. In ScheduleCloud, channels join through an invite link and SoundCloud sign-in, and can revoke access anytime.
  2. Stay on genre. Group channels by style so followers see music they actually like.
  3. Limit volume. Use a daily repost cap per channel.
  4. Rotate. Auto-unrepost after a set time so feeds stay fresh.
  5. Be transparent. Share a read-only calendar with the artists you promote so they know when their track goes out.
